An invitation to share and discover

Just a few steps from Mons’ Grand Place, a well-known house with its distinctive façade has begun a new culinary chapter.
Formerly Le Comptoir de Marie, this emblematic address has been taken over by the talented chef Céline François, who now gives it a renewed identity under the name L’Instant C.

Having worked in remarkable kitchens – such as Couvert Couvert in Leuven or Origines by neighbouring chef Céline Moustier – Céline offers here a modern, immersive gastronomic experience where conviviality and sharing lie at the heart of the place. The traditional starter-main-dessert format is set aside in favour of a culinary journey built around discovery and authentic flavours.

A counter at the chef’s side

One of the restaurant’s unique features is its central counter, where Céline François cooks in full view of her guests.
This approach creates a direct and lively interaction, allowing diners to observe each precise gesture, engage with the chef, and understand the story behind every dish.

The current menu includes, among others: Scallop tartare with citrus, Confit salmon with fennel and curry siphon, Ribs croquette with carrots, pickled vegetables and smoked paprika aioli, Venison with truffle sauce and celeriac, Duck breast with lentils and beetroot, roasted White fish with risotto and creamy cabbage, and to finish, French toast with passion fruit and caramel.

A free-spirited, generous cuisine

Here, Céline François expresses her full know-how and culinary sensitivity. Each plate feels like a suspended moment, a balance between fine products and heartfelt gourmandise, where seasonal ingredients are revealed with accuracy.

L’Instant C is more than a restaurant – it is a place of encounter and exchange, where gastronomy is lived and shared. In a refined atmosphere, every guest is invited to savour a timeless moment where pleasure leads the way.

With this new chapter, Mons welcomes a promising address where tradition and modernity meet in a dance of flavour and freedom.
