32, Chemin de l’Herbe
At the table, indulged, by the fire.
This is a typical house, a Brabant farmhouse, nestled at the entrance of the charming village of Bonlez. The setting is immediately captivating. The ivy-covered exterior walls and the terrace overlooking a lush garden bring a rare sense of peace and give the place a unique soul.
At '32', dining is not just about eating—it’s about experiencing the essence of the place, enjoying a moment of tranquility in the countryside, just five minutes from Wavre and twenty minutes from Brussels. The magic of the place extends indoors, where the rustic plastered walls, raw woodwork, and an open fire create a warm and intimate atmosphere.
As for the food, Simon Vanden Broucke has joined the adventure started by his father Michel over twenty years ago. From his kitchen, the young chef delivers a cuisine full of sincerity and flavor, balancing classic dishes with contemporary inspirations. Some highlights from the menu include homemade foie gras terrine with Bas-Armagnac, nobashi shrimp with Thai basil and kimchi, 63° egg, lobster, and champagne sabayon, duck confit spring rolls, vegetables and orange caramel, homemade shrimp croquettes, vegetable ravioli and Thai broth, scallop ravioli and kale, green curry espuma, red tuna with Mexican spices, spiced vegetables and guacamole, butternut ravioli with white truffle dust, French pigeon cooked on the bone, carrot variations and port jus, tarragon chicken supreme inspired by childhood flavors, beef burger, filet pur, five-week aged ribeye steak, americain préparé and veal sweetbreads.
All of this is accompanied by a well-curated wine selection, the result of Michel’s careful research, with a nod to hidden gems.
A special mention goes to the stunning terrace overlooking the garden, which adapts beautifully to the seasons. In summer, it flourishes in the greenery, while in autumn, it transforms into a cozy alpine chalet, hosting themed evenings where fondue and the legendary raclette are among the highlights.
