SWITCH – first, it is the ‘switch’ in the career of Marc Boutsen, formerly a food journo and TV producer, turned restaurateur. And SWITCH is the name of the restaurant he has now managed for a few months, with his team trained by former owner Evan Triantopoulos. Here, he offers food that ‘switches’ between traditional Franco-Belgian and the latest gastronomic trends. SWITCH is very faithful to certain fresh produce, such as lobster, cod, Aubrac sirloin and, in SWITCH, it’s possible to ‘switch’ between various menus and cultures. This allows for the possibility of enjoying a gourmet meal at a fixed (but fair) price, normally 30-34€ per head.
Of course, you can always eat à la carte as well – every lunchtime, the chef offers a soup and vegetarian dish for 13€ (with meat dish for 15€), or a fish dish for 17€. With an atmosphere that combines bar and gourmet restaurant, SWITCH is a perfect gastronomic treat. Even with the wines wines, the menu ‘switches’ from one viticultural area to another. SWITCH is to be found on Rue de Flandre, near Place Sainte Catherine, the culinary heart of Brussels.
To guarantee that the very best is always available, SWITCH uses only the area’s very best suppliers – Noordzee for the fine fish, Mathijs & Vangaever for the poultry, Champigros for mushrooms, while the cheeses come from the Linkebeek Dairy. As for the artisanal ice-creams, they are created by master glacier Michel van Comus. For us, SWITCH means to turn on pleasure.
