Les Brigittines

Owner(s) : Dirk Myny

Cook : Dirk Myny

Nestling cosily in its Art Nouveau setting in Les Marolles, the heart of the heart of Brussels, Les Brigittines takes its name from the former convent close by. Places like this make up our gourmet heritage, restaurants which never cease to make our palettes tremble with the sort of Franco-Belgian fare that is, unfortunately, now all too rare. Dirk Myny is a very good cook, a cook through and through. His flavoursome cooking - from the classic French and Belgian repertoires – is utterly frank and, above all, marvellously put together.
The menu offers unbeatable gourmet stars such as Farm “Egg Hof ter Lin” from Grimbergen, poached then lightly fried; authentic fresh Russian salad; warm potato with shrimps, spinach and double cream, pig trotter’s à la Saint-Chinian (capers, gherkins, boiled egg, lightly thickened sauce), the fricasée of Termonde young rabbit served with a mild vinegary gravy with baby vegetables, rocket salad and sour cream; the cow’s udder stew; veal cheek braised for four hours in Kriek Cantillon, with a red radish purée; or the Zeebrugge Sole à la meunière. All to be washed down with a top wine list.
At lunchtime you don’t have to worry about parking – Henri will take care of it for you.
