Out there in the Soignies countryside, in an isolated cottage, we met Dominique Maistriaux, a jovial character who has been working within these period walls for ten years now. But this old place has been brought seriously up to date. It is bathed in light, there’s plenty of space between the tables to allow privacy, the garden is praiseworthy, and the vault offers a relaxing salon corner where fans of the grape can enjoy a silky cru or two. The refurbishment is a triumph as the local clients will, no doubt, tell you. And anyone one who meets Dominique Maistriaux cannot help but like him. And he’s passionate too. Get him started about cooking and his gastronomic adventures, he’ll give you chapter and verse about his gourmet peregrinations – a cultured man who loves cooking, what more can we say ?
Dominique Maistriaux serves his guests excellent, generous French cuisine, sincere cooking which puts the spotlight on seasonal produce, turning it into the star of the show. The wine cellar is magnificent with a perfect balance between price and quality.
