La Petite Fugue

Namur’s charms include its pedestrianised streets, and although they are not the only attraction in the city it is at the corner of one of these streets, or rather in one of its little squares, that la Petite Fugue is to be found nestling. It is twenty years, almost to the day, since Pascal Pirlot has been excelling himself on this spot, twenty years of pleasing his clientele, without a break.
Imagine what the man – and the cook – has witnessed during these years at the stove, we can only appreciate the will required to keep his love of his craft alive. He has managed to create such excellent results for twenty years while still keeping faith with a passion for cooking that is refined and meticulous - an altogether discerning cuisine.
Last year, Pascal applied his thoughts in a new direction. Always wanting to press forward, he gave a new sparkle to his gem: the music instruments disappeared, making way for a modern setting of chocolate walls, with angry slashes of red which punctuate the beautiful modern works of art. The result is a triumph. Once more it’s worth underling one of the great qualities of this place, a virtue even, and that’s the combination of price and pleasure, which makes this is a restaurant that simply cannot be ignored. And it’s lasted twenty years!
