The history of a gourmet dynasty.
It all began in 1926, when Georges Cuvelier, a courageous Borain who embraced the restaurant business to escape from the mines, opened a nice little neighbourhood restaurant in Brussels. A regular visitor to the place stated each time he came: "George, at your place, it’s like were eating at home" ... And that’s exactly how it got it’s name. When the restaurant moved up to place Rouppe, where it is now, Georges Cuvelier’s daughter married Louis Wynants, a Tirlemont charcutier who would quickly evolve the kitchen, taking the restaurant to new heights. From that union came a son, Pierre Wynants, whose career we all know about. Despite working flat out in the best establishments he still found time to make the acquaintance of Marie-Therese, whom he married shortly afterwards. From their marriage came two daughters, Laurence and Véronique. In turn the elder daughter, Laurence, met a talented young man, Lionel Rigolet. Meticulous and precise, he is now the key element in a house that has always offered quality and tradition.
